Dry Sand Metal Detecting and The Beach Cleaning Machine
For many years I would go to the beach and work the dry sand with my metal detector. It was almost as if you would just take a step and get a hit on some sort of target. The finds in the sand were just incredible and you would find 10 to 30 dollars just in change depending on the beach that you were metal detecting. Jewelry and other items were easily found and you would normally leave the beach with quite a few good finds.
Now let us go forward a few years and let us see where are all dry sand targets are now? The answer is the beach cleaning machine. We recently had the opportunity to talk with several gentlemen who drive those big tractors on the beach pulling the beach cleaning machine. We wanted to know exactly what they find when they clean the beach. We always had the idea that they were finding a lot of good items in the trash but after we spoke to them now, we know. Yes, they are finding rings, chains, phones, wallets, and other types of items of value on the beach after each cleaning. One of the gentlemen uses his lunch hour and after work to look through the entire days trash pulling out as many pieces of jewelry and coins that he can find. So now you know where all those great targets have gone. Are there still good targets out there? Yes, but you better be the early bird who gets there before those beach cleaning machines or you will be walking and griding the beach only to find there are mostly no targets to be found.
How Do Beach Cleaning Machines Work
Beach sand sifting machines are used to remove unwanted debris from beaches, such as seaweed, dead fish, glass, syringes, plastic, cans, cigarettes, shells, stone, wood, and virtually any other unwanted debris. They work by using a cutting edge to lift all the sand from the beach onto a vibrating screen. The screen then sifts the unwanted materials from the sand, while the sand returns to the beach, and the remaining debris is deposited in a bucket.
There are two main types of beach sand sifting machines: walk-behind machines and tractor-towed machines. Walk-behind machines are smaller and more maneuverable, making them ideal for cleaning small beaches or areas that are difficult to access with a tractor. Tractor-towed machines are larger and more powerful, making them ideal for cleaning large beaches or beaches with a lot of debris.
Beach sand sifting machines are an important tool for keeping beaches clean and safe. They help to remove debris that can pose a hazard to beachgoers, such as sharp objects, broken glass, and needles. They also help to protect marine life by removing debris that can end up in the ocean.
The use of beach sand sifting machines is becoming increasingly common as people become more aware of the importance of keeping beaches clean. In addition to being used by local governments, beach sand sifting machines are also used by businesses, organizations, and individuals who want to help keep their beaches clean.
Here are some of the benefits of using beach sand sifting machines:
- They can remove a wide variety of debris from beaches.
- They are effective in removing small debris that can be difficult to pick up by hand.
- They are relatively easy to operate and maintain.
- They can be used to clean beaches of all sizes.
- They can help to protect beachgoers and marine life.
